Where is Cagayan de Oro? It is also known as the City of Golden Friendship is the capital of the province of Misamis Oriental, the regional hub for Northern Mindanao. A young city in contrast to other highly urbanized cities in the Philippines, Cagayan de Oro has a population of over 460,000 in 200,000 families. Originally chartered as a city as “Cagayan de Misamis,” its identify was eventually altered to “Cagayan de Oro” in status of the gold mining activities in the area recognised by The Spaniard explorers. It stands as foundation for both local and multi-national companies, such as Del Monte Philippines, Nestle, Coca-Cola Company and Pepsi Company.
